Social media and marketing strategist with over 15 years of experience
With my experience leading a team of content creators, influencers, and project managers at Heritage Auctions; my editorial experience that reaches back to the Dallas Observer while owning reporting and analytics; and leading higher-education marketing for a decade as director at SMU Meadows School of the Arts.
The bottom line: I have 16 years of marketing experience, including managing creative teams, and over a decade of writing and editing for major publications including the Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, and Texas Monthly.
At Heritage Auctions, I’ve spearheaded campaigns from concept to creation that helped break sales records. I worked closely with our Creative Director and Communications Director, with a strong emphasis on influencer marketing, to ensure our creative output aligns with the brand's overarching goals. From copy to creation, I built memorable moments for new bidders across multiple categories, including sports, luxury, coins, and entertainment. I built the creative and coordinated with HBO for Heritage Auction’s Game of Thrones auction. I crafted every post while coordinating with AMC Network’s social media team for The Walking Dead auction. Both generated millions in EMV (estimated media value), and Heritage Auctions' flagship social media accounts achieved the highest views, engagement, and ROI from influencer marketing initiatives in the company's history.
At SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts, I managed social media and web strategy for 12 divisions, including advertising, journalism, and the M.A./M.B.A. program in arts management and entrepreneurship, under Dean Sam Holland's leadership. I also served as the school's point person in content creation for the National Center for Arts Research.
You can find my latest writing at D Magazine (and in this year’s Eat Drink issue). My cover story on the Best Burgers for D was nominated for a National City & Regional Magazine Award.
